I'm Luyao Qin (秦璐瑶), a Beijing-based journalist, videographer, and photographer with a love for music, art, and telling stories that connect cultures and ideas.

My career began at Visual China Group, China’s largest photo agency and the exclusive partner of Getty Images in China, where I worked as a photo editor. Immersed in global visual journalism, I developed a deep passion for photography and began creating my own visual narratives.

I later worked as a video journalist at China Daily Hong Kong, China’s leading English-language newspaper, producing multimedia stories on feminism, social issues, culture, and economic transformation across Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Tokyo. In parallel, I have collaborated with a range of international media and institutions, including the French financial daily Les Échos, Australia’s SBS television network, and the Embassy of the Kingdom of Belgium in Beijing, contributing reporting, video production, and visual content for international audiences.

Outside of work, I practice music, enjoy photography in its many forms, and explore the intersections of art, culture, and human expression. I like to bring a sense of rhythm and play into everything I do—whether filming a story, composing an image, or just wandering the streets of Beijing in search of a moment worth capturing.

I hold a dual bachelor’s degree in Tourism Management and English from Tianjin Foreign Studies University and a master’s degree in International Journalism from Hong Kong Baptist University.
